Proletariat & Mike Dacey - Limited Edition Hand Printed Poster

Kerry from Proletariat breaks down the new limited edition of Posters he is working on with Mike Dacey:

I have always wanted to expand my designs into inexpensive limited art pieces. A few months ago while visiting my friend Kenji Nakayama at his art studio, I ran into a longtime customer of mine, Michael Dacey. Mike is the genius behind all the displays at Urban Outfitters and he is a jack of all trades, but his real passion is poster art on his vintage Vandercook SP20 letterpress. After seeing his own work on display I knew Mike and I had to collaborate for Proletariat's first limited edition art piece. After all the shit that has been happening in the world lately I figured we had to use my phrase "Men in Denim BUILD this Country, Men in Suits DESTROY It."

Michael and I spent days upon days meeting up after work laying out the type and changing it, then building items out of wood, then changing them, to finally capture what both of us were feeling. (Pabst and pork rinds kept us going) We are proud of the final product and have limited it to 25. The poster measures 18" x 24" and is signed by Michael and me and is embossed with Repeat Press and Proletariat logos. This will be the first in a long line of limited edition art prints and will be available first in our new online shop which will hopefully be up in the next week. I am also working on some other online exclusive products including a new color for our popular KingPen Escobar series of paint markers, but for now please enjoy the making of our first art print.
