Holiday Art & Craft Fair Wrap-Up Photos

Don't mind if I do!
One of Boston's favorites, Kristilyn aka Zombie Romance, at her colorful table full of eye candy!  She had dozens of adorable buttons, zombie sticker sheets, prints, hand crafted jewelry (earrings/necklaces/rings), stuffed critters like little bats and squids and more!!! The thing we like most about Kristilyn's work is that it is all adorable, even the creepy things.  If anyone can make a ghost or zombie look cute, it is Kristilyn! Here's one of her littlest customers trying a ring on every finger.  (I don't blame her! The rings were awesome!) Check out Kristilyn's online shop for available goodies:
We stopped by the table of Robin Showstack aka Hearts' Desires, covered in handmade necklaces and earrings. We always love meeting people who are passionate about something, and Robin is passionate about entomology.  She finds beauty within the colors and aesthetic details of insects.  It was interesting to se…

Dedication Of The Beautiful "Healing Waters" Sculpture By Boston's Mark Davis At Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago

Tomorrow, Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago will be dedicating a large-scale sculpture, “Healing Waters,” by Boston-based artist Mark Davis (represented by the Pucker Gallery).
The recently opened Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is likely one of the most art-focused hospitals in the US. The interior features the involvement of many cultural institutions, including the Art Institute, Lookingglass Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet,  Chicago Symphony Orchestra and more. Each floor is decorated with a different  theme corresponding to these institutions, and reflective of  the hospital’s overall mission of healing through the arts. Standing below the giant whales in the lobby,  it’s clear this is not the average, sterile hospital.
On November 15, the importance of art to the Lurie Children’s Hospital will be brought outdoors through the dedication of a new sculpture over the driveway entrance.  “Healing Waters” by Boston-based Mark Davis is made of blue and green steel…

The 2012 Boston Biennial - Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Art

The 2012 Boston Biennial
Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Art
Presented byThe Biennial Project
atThe Gallery at Spencer Lofts

December 2012

The theme of TheBoston Biennial 2012 isIlluminating Worlds.

We The Biennial Project have light which we pass onto others (that's you). As The Biennial Project's own light shines, we give other people permission to do the same. Our spotlight spills over to all around us and we want the world to see you through us.

Did you ever turn on the kitchen lights and watch the roaches scatter in all directions. Things lurk in the dark and when the lights go on shit gets exposed. Whether you worship the sun or think Jesus is the Son of God, we all know we can't live in the dark. Expose your inner self to the world around us.

Remember we are only as sick as our secrets.

Also don't be beholden to the theme. We just needed to come up something that sounded important.

Open to all artists.  Open to all media, including 2-D, 3-D, sculpture, phot…
