Fall 2012 Public Programs and Exhibitions September September 13–November 3                           “Something Along Those Lines” (Barbara + Steven Grossman Gallery, SMFA) Organized in response to Wall Drawing #118, an early work by Sol LeWitt first executed at SMFA in 1971, this exhibition combines conceptual and dynamic engagements with the formal elements of drawing. Featuring work by Adel Abdessemed, Ann Carlson + Mary Ellen Strom, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Gego, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, LeWitt, Bruce Nauman, Fred Sandback and Lawrence Weiner.

Robert Klein Gallery to Show New Work by 2012 Guggenheim Fellow Bill Jacobson

Bill Jacobson, Place (Series) #425, 2010 The ROBERT KLEIN GALLERY is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition of new photographs by 2012 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient BILL JACOBSON. The show will open September 15 and run through October 27, 2012.

 Jacobson, who is primarily concerned with memory, perception, and the dialogue between absence and presence, has been making photographs for nearly forty years. He describes his current body of work, Place (Series), as "the result of inserting rectangles of various sizes and surfaces in both constructed and natural settings. Ideally, the work questions what is 'real' and what is 'abstract,' while suggesting that the creation of places, and the act of placing, comes from choice and desire."

 The exhibition will include a selection of prints from Place (Series) as well as a group of the photographer's earliest work, taken with a plastic Diana camera in 1975 and 1976.

Boston Based Musician And Artist, Mei Ohara

The second print issue of 3200K, Signified, releasing August 18th

3200K is an online blog and printed fine-art quarterly. It features works made with light-based media employing traditional analog photographic methods. Published weekly online and quarterly in print form, 3200K seeks to create exhibition and networking opportunities for emerging artists.

Brazilian Brothers Os Gêmeos - Solo Exhibit At Institute of Contemporary Arts in Boston

Os Gêmeos painted a spectacular 70x70 foot mural on the side of a building at Dewey Square Park in Boston's Financial District.  This mural will be up for 18 months, so make sure to go and check it out!
