Keith Rocka Knittel - THRUST/EVERYTHING MUST GO #3

A heartbeat or an eternity they're both the same.
THRUST / EVERYTHING MUST GO #3 is one of a series of performances in which Keith Rocka Knittel explores the objectivity of his record collection by getting rid of it.  In each performance a record is chosen from years of vinyl amassed while djing professionally and used as a starting point for a presentation on a theme connected to that particular record.
THRUST / EVERYTHING MUST GO #3 employs Herbie Hancock's album "Thrust" to initiate a composition of contextually related records telling a new narrative of the creation of the universe.  Images borrowed from the album covers are manipulated on micro and macro scales while a soundtrack made from elements of songs on the records recontextualizes their original sound and meaning. Through the process, reflecting our own understanding of the universe itself, time and space are rendered as an immeasurable unknown.
An accompanying pamphlet, THRUST / EVERYTHING MUST GO (Field G…

Tattoo performance by Katrina Chamberlin in conjunction with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston’s exhibition “Something Along Those Lines”

Boston, MA (October 25, 2012) — The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston’s (SMFA), current exhibition, “Something Along Those Lines,” features international modern and contemporary artists whose works draw on performative, sculptural and conceptual engagements with the line, including works by Adel Abdessemed, Ann Carlson + Mary Ellen Strom, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Gego, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Sol LeWitt, Bruce Nauman, Fred Sandback and Lawrence Weiner. Delving further into this interdisciplinary dialogue, SMFA is pleased to host a two-day tattoo performance by Brooklyn-based artist Katrina Chamberlin whose piece,Mnemonic, will take place in the Barbara and Steven Grossman Gallery October 25–26.
“Something Along Those Lines” is organized in response to Wall Drawing #118 by Sol LeWitt, an early work composed of “fifty random points all connected by straight lines,” first drafted at the School in 1971 and executed once again by SMFA students this fall. As a means of furthering a dialogue…

MOO is a printing company that offers high quality products such as holiday cards, business cards, and stickers.  Holidays are right around the corner, so holiday cards might be a fun thing to order! :) http://us.moo.com/products/holiday-cards.html

Tofu Squirrel's MOO review:
The circle stickers came in 2 separate cases, 4 stickers on each sheet. I love how vibrant the colors look. I put one on the back of my phone already! I also ordered a sticker book full of mini stickers. I separated the pages so that I can use them in my sticker packs. I was curious about their Luxe thick high quality business cards, so I ordered a bunch with a thin red strip around the edge. They came out really nice! I placed my order with multiple images, so I have a variety of cards to choose from. The cards came in this really nice case too! Thanks MOO!

Landscapes of REBECCA NORRIS WEBB at The ROBERT KLEIN GALLERY

TheROBERT KLEIN GALLERYandARS LIBRI, LTD., are honored to present the intimate and lyrical landscapes ofREBECCA NORRIS WEBB. The exhibition, Rebecca Norris Webb:My Dakota, will open at Ars Libri on Friday, October 5, as part of the South End's First Friday.

The installation will feature photographs from My Dakota(Radius Books), Norris Webb's 2012 monograph. A poet by training and a photographer by trade, Norris Webb returned home to South Dakota in 2005 to make pictures. Norris Webb was initially spurred by a longing for open space and the distinctive geography of the American West. A year into the project, however, her brother unexpectedly passed away. My Dakota became an exploration of loss and landscape, what Norris Webb calls, "grief's expansiveness -- the prairie unfolding in me."
With her husband and creative partner, Magnum photographer ALEX WEBB, Norris Webb completed Violet Isle: A Duet of Photographs from Cubain 2009. The couple's photographs were exh…
