"Personal Mythology", new paintings by K Lenore Siner will be showing at The Middle East Restaurant and Night Club, 472 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA from May 4th - May 31st. Opening Reception is May 11th from 3-5pm.
Siner lives and works in the AS220 artist organization in Providence, RI. She works primarily in wax and oil paint on glass and has shown her paintings nationally. The portraits and self-portraits in "Personal Mythology" use luminous color and symbolism to highlight her connection to what she feels is the person's "archetype".
"I feel most comfortable with a blurry line between the real and the imaginary, a state I think was encouraged by the thick hard cover book of Hans Christian Anderson fables and steady diet of movies like "Neverending Story" and "Return To Oz" as a young child. I wrote myself into those stories and many others as a child and painting has become an effortless extension of that storytelling. My paintings portray the stories I imagine about the real people that I know or stories that I write about my private experiences and feelings. I find these ideas and images helpful in understanding myself, my relationships and the world." - K Lenore Siner
